When looking to buy a video/computer analysis program, make sure it has the following high-performance features... |

Other Software |
||
| 60 Frames-Per-Second |
??? |
Yes |
| Some swing analysis applications can only capture and playback video at the standard rate of 30 Frames-Per-Second. At that speed, you'll lose the ability to freeze the action at critical points during the swing, this is especially important when the clubhead is moving fastest. Click here to see the Professional difference. Avoid programs which allow you to use webcams, USB connections, DVD or MPEG video formats. | ||
|
Other Software |
||
| 640 by 480 Pixels (minimum) |
??? |
Yes |
| Some programs display 320 by 240 size images. The smaller pictures won't provide the detail you need to properly view and evaluate the golfer and club. Click to see how Professional's swings will actually appear on your monitor. | ||

Other Software |

| Reliable capture, precise play, 21 speeds, Key Positions and other special functions. |

| Many applications use a modified version of the standard Windows® Media Player as their primary video controller device. These players will often skip video frames, don't always display "smooth-looking" video, fail to run at correct slow motion rates and aren't as stable as Professional's frame-accurate custom Quick Video Player which relies on its own proprietary video handling method. Check out Quick Video Player's many functions. | ||

Some analysis programs include, or offer for an additional
charge, "pro swings" which can be used for comparisons. There are also
web sites which let you download golf swing videos. A
number of factors will determine the real usefulness of these videos... Was the video recorded in a way which will let you do a proper analysis? How about camera angles? Is the camera precisely positioned so that the side or down-the-line view allows you to do a valid analysis? Does the video play at 30 or just 15 frames-per-second? At 15 FPS too much of the swing will be missing. What's the video format? If it's an MPEG, DVD or some others, you won't be able to view and analyze each video frame. What size is the picture? Is it half or only quarter-screen? How clear is the picture? If the video was captured from television, a camera or another source without using a high-speed shutter setting, then the golfer and club will be blurred. How stable is the video? Hand-held camera recordings won't be acceptable, because even the slightest camera movement during the swing will ruin the analysis. Do you legally have the right to use the video? Will you be breaking copyright laws if the tour professional, producer, or actual owner of the recording has not agreed to allow you to do so? Golf Swing Analysis System Professional does not come with "pro swings," but you can put together your own library of swings and use them for side-by-side comparisons. With the appropriate video capturing hardware, record swings from television, videos and any other legally-allowable (for personal use) source. Load the digitized swing in Professional and construct a comprehensive high-speed, high-resolution analysis. |

| Ability to capture the swing from two camera angles at the same time. |
??? |

Few programs offer this option because of the high
probability of user-related problems. However, if this
feature is available, important compromises are usually made. 1. Videos are captured at a lower frame rate, 30 or even 15 FPS. 2. The picture size will also be reduced. It's extremely important that both cameras record and play back each video frame perfectly in-sync with each other. Otherwise, the simultaneous 2 camera capture will be absolutely useless. The extra equipment costs (second video capture device, camera, tripod, cables, etc.), additional setup hassles and potential technical difficulties should be weighed against the actual benefits of such an indoor 2 camera setup. You also need to take into account special lighting considerations and other indoor video recording requirements, such as, having enough space for positioning the cameras far enough away from the player in order to capture the entire swing path. Forget about doing any worthwhile 2 cam analysis work outdoors. Even the newest battery-powered laptop computer won't be able to properly handle the demands of simultaneously capturing and processing video from two sources. With Golf Swing Analysis System Professional, compromise is not an option. A scientific swing analysis can only be constructed at a minimum of 60 video frames-per-second, while viewing high-resolution images. A two-view swing analysis is best accomplished, simply and inexpensively, one camera angle at a time. The normal procedure is to video-record the golfer hitting a few balls with the same club, from each camera-angle until they make their “typical mis-hit” shot. (It won't take long.) Because these side and rear view swings are very similar, they can be captured separately, but displayed side-by-side and accurately diagnosed together. |

Some programs are limited in what they can do. If you just want to draw blue lines over the swing
video, then these "Home" version or restricted-feature programs might
be okay. Golf Swing Analysis System is a multi-function swing analysis application offering a variety of unique tools providing worthwhile data, such as, advanced timing and clubhead speed computations throughout the swing. Click here to see all Golf Swing Analysis System special features. If your computer knowledge is really limited, buy the toy. However, with only average PC expertise, and by following Professional's printed step-by-step guides, tutorials, reference material and in-program Help, you will become comfortable using the program in a short time. The learning period is well worth it, considering that Golf Swing Analysis System Professional will be beneficial to you for years to come. |
